I got a new guitar today! My Epiphone Casino just arrived! I’ve been looking at this guitar for a long time.
So, this Epiphone Casino has been sitting in my cart on GuitarCenter.com for about a month. I bunch of guitars have gone into and out of the cart during that time, a Fender Player Plus, a Fender Player, a PRS SE Custom 24-08, a Gretsch 5xxx something. I always wound up coming back to the Casino.
First Impressions
In terms of first impressions, it’s playable out of the box. It needs a setup and a bit of tweaking. The action is a little high for my tastes. It’s definitely set higher than my Epiphone LP. It reminds me a lot more of an acoustic guitar than I expected. I’ve spent time in at Guitar Center with Casinos and I knew that it was light and resonant and loud for an electric guitar, but I didn’t truly realize how loud until I was able to spend more time with it at home. I don’t spend a ton of time on my acoustic, but the resonance and sound of the Casino is probably going to drive that down even more.

There’s a ton of material about the Epiphone Casino online so I’m not going to add anything more about it unless it’s something new. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the following resources that I found most useful.
