Guitar Tools to Help You Learn Faster

Two free, interactive tools that take the guesswork out of chords. Use the Chord Finder to name a chord you are playing, and the Slide Rule to build progressions that sound right in any key.

Chord Finder

Not sure what chord you are playing? Pick the frets and notes you know, and the Chord Finder shows every guitar chord that contains them. Each result comes with left- and right-handed shapes you can see, play and hear, so you can name a chord, check your fingering or discover a new one.

Guitar Chord Progression Slide Rule

Pick a tonic chord and the Slide Rule lines up the numbered scale for that key, showing which major and minor chords belong together. Start from a popular preset like I, V, vi, IV or build your own progression of two to four chords, then see the chord names in your key at a glance.
