Fender Play: Plush Exercise Extra Credit

The Stone Temple Pilots lesson is one of the early lessons in Fender Play Level 1, electric guitar, rock genre. The exercise is a relatively easy introduction to playing two strings with the new player practicing fretting the B-string, while strumming the B and G strings at a 60 bps pace.

Plush Extra Credit

Once you’ve mastered the Fender Play Plush exercise, you might want to try pushing yourself with a little extra credit work with the same riff and the Plush tab from Songsterr.com. The tab is slightly faster at 75 bps, but not so much that it is totally out of reach of the learner. The real difference between the songster.com tab and the Fender Play exercise is that Songsterr tab requires the student to fret multiple strings and strum the E, B, and G strings.

I looked up the Songsterr tab not long after completing the Fender Play exercise. I still play the songsterr version of the riff occasionally for fun.
