There She Goes, The La’s – Practice Song

There She Goes
There She Goes

This is one of my favorite practice songs. I’m still terrible at it, but it’s one that I continue to go back to over and over again. There is seldom a practice session where I don’t spend a few minutes working on the intro riff.

Lots of Choices for Tutorials

  • GuitarLessons365Song – A highly detailed, note by note, tutorial breakdown of the song. It’s a little rough. His singing isn’t that great. However, the video delivers a lot more than the other more popular YouTube teachers below. The video is 24 minutes long and easily double the length of the videos above. If I hadn’t wound up using Marty Music, I wish that I found this video instead.
  • Justin Guitar – One of the better tutorials. The video is one of Justin’s older videos, Eleven years old at the time of this writing. Justin doesn’t supply any tabs, leaving that as a reason to sign up for his online lessons. I’ve linked the tab from Songsterr.com below, but I think it might differ slightly from Justin’s lesson.
  • Marty Music – Marty Music was the tutorial that I relied on the most for learning the song, but I can’t really say that its the best. Marty is popular and does an OK job. If I was to do this again, I’d probably spend more time on the Justin Guitar lesson vs the Marty music one. Same as Justin Guitar. No tabs. He reserves that for those paying for his online lessons.
  • Andy Guitar – I’m not normally an Andy Guitar fan. I find that his lessons don’t really match up with tabs on songsterr.com, which makes learning the whole song hard. He does offer tabs and other material if you want to sign up, but I’m not really interested when Justin Guitar usually does a better job with the free tutorial.
