Fender Play students will encounter the Rhythm and Rests lesson with Matt Lake at about Level 4, Course 08 and Sydney Green with the Stopping Sound lesson on muting at Level 4, Course 09. Both these lessons are important to improving your technique and lead to the Elvis Presley Heartbreak Hotel practice exercise on Level 4, Course 10.

The tab for Proud Mary by Creedence Clearwater Revival on Songsterr.com is a good extra credit practice song to stretch your skills once you’re fully comfortable with the Heartbreak Hotel exercise on Fender Play. It’s got a highly repetitive D chord sequence with a 1/8 note rest running at about 115 bps, a great way to practice without a lot of song complexity. It even has a little F chord in there for those of you who have skipped ahead to the little F chord lesson on Level 5, Course 05.
