Today I did the 1-minute chord changing exercise from Justin Guitar. I covered the D / C, G / C, Em / G, and the D / G chord changes in preparation for the Fender Play Green Day Good Riddance (time of your life exercise). I’m recording the results on a google sheet.
For warm up, I did my usual finger independence exercise to improve the recovery of my right-hand ring finger. The finger is getting better and I’m slowly working towards expanding the speed of the high E to low E movements. I’m thinking about trying to land the other more comfortable fingers on other strings as a precision exercise. Holding off on that for now.
I did my usual pivot exercises and the Fender Play riffs that I usually practice: Batman theme, Plush with 1 string, Plush with 3 strings, Smoke on the Water with the G string, Seven Nation army on the A string. Sunny Day bass line, a little bit of Day Tripper, and the Peter Gunn theme.
I’m also starting to Rock / Fast version of Hazy Shade of Winter. Really slow right now.
Did some strumming pattern practice: 1 note, ½ note, ¼ note, ⅛ note and 1/16 note.
